Rain!
Following a winter of infrequent and light snowfalls, with resulting low water flows in the Arkansas River, we rejoice in the recent rains. We hope you have been getting out and enjoying a walk in Browns Canyon National Monument, and time on the river, experiencing and appreciating the beauty of our shared public lands treasure.
Greetings Friends,
An Action Alert from Conservation Lands Foundation
The current administration’s Department of the Interior has opened a public comment period to gather input on wilderness policies. This “review” is an attempt to weaken, not strengthen, conservation policies followed by the Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. This would open the door for short-term extractive industries, commercial development, and increased motorized vehicle activities in our public lands, including Browns Canyon National Monument. This public comment period ends August 14.
